    Germania was
the projected renewal of the German capital Berlin during the WW2 German period
, part of the WW2 German leaders vision for the future of Germany after the planned victory in World War II. It was to be the capital of his planned " Greater Germanic Reich ".
ON THE REVERSE IS THE PHOTOGRAPHER HEINRICH HOFMANN PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIO STAMP IN BERLIN ALONG WITH TYPED CATALOG ARCHIVE NUMBERS AND PERIOD HANDWRITTEN PENNED NOTATIONS POSSIBLY BY; ALBERT SPEER, WALTER SCHLEMPP or KARL ELKART. DATED IN BLUE GREASE PENCIL SEPTEMBER 18 ,1938 AND IN PENCIL SEPTERMBER 3.
Today, only a handful of Speer’s fully realised buildings remain standing in Berlin this being one of them. As an urban planner, however, he is present in almost all WW2 German architecture, and his interest in neoclassicism can still be seen in this Walter Schlempp’s
    Haus des Deutschen Gemeindetages
. Schlempp designed the monumental building as part of the world capitol ' Germania ’ project. After the war the office building was renamed ‘ Ernst-Reuter-Haus ’ and is now the headquarters of the Federal Office for Building and Regional Planning.
