    After service in WW1 on 9 November 1923, Huhnlein took part in the Beer Hall Putsch in Munich. In 1931 Hühnlein was then appointed leader of the new National Socialist Automobile Corps, the motorized corps of the German political party until his death in 1942. In 1933 the organisation was renamed National Socialist Motor Corps (
